Local Farmers And
Exact Regions

We work and maintain close ties with coffee growers from Guatemala, Costa-Rica, Colombia, Brasil, Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Vietnam and Indonesia. We know the farmers personally and often visit them to build relationships.

Our farmers pay special attention to the perfect combination of light and shadow, giving the coffee grains the perfect rest time (*too much sun is not suitable for beans).

90% Handpicked
Coffee Cherries

The essential thing while harvesting coffee beans is fingertip sensitivity. By picking method (by hand), only the best coffee beans are selected individually and carefully from the branch. This procedure takes much time, but it is the only way you can be sure that only undamaged beans of high quality will be used in the production process.

Honest Payments

Origo specialty coffee is being produced according to fair trade standards supporting fair pay for plantation owners and rejecting the employment of children.

Tracing Deliveries

Each individual coffee bag can be traced back to where the beans were grown, processed, roasted and packaged.

Sorting The Green
Coffee Beans Before
Roasting

We examine bean color, size and color consistency, and the presence of any faults to identify the best beans. The size-based sorting criteria are used to determine if coffee batches are homogeneous, allowing for even and consistent roasting of all beans.

Traditional
drum roasting

Our traditional drum roasting requires tranquility, so not large amounts of coffee beans can be roasted at 180-210 °C for about 20 minutes. Slow and gentle roasting allows coffee beans to reach their full natural flavor and eliminate undesirable acidity.

Roasting
Color Control

To reach full natural flavor, we focus on roasting coffee beans in the light to the medium range because milder roast profiles highlight the bean origin essence (region, altitude, soil, humidity, etc.).

Cooling With
Pure Air

Cooling sucrose down quickly helps to retain the sort of inherent sweetness. Also, air-cooled coffee beans do not contain extra moisture. You can be sure that our experts have discovered the optimal cooling time and speed of agitation to achieve these effects.

What is the process in short? Ambient air is passed through roasted coffee beans in the drum. Therefore, bean temperature is dropped to ambient temperature immediately.
